THOUGHTS AND COMMENTS FROM AN AMERICAN Merchant Mariner
Tuesday, February 3, 2015
Last day
If all goes well, 24 hours from now I'll be at the airport and in line for a little probulation and a walk through the rape-o-matic. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor getting fingered by a 400-lb high-school dropout who chews his nails will stop me.
I'm Paul B and I'm a professional mariner and former but still occasionally a marine scientist. From commercial fishing in New England starting from age 8 to crewing on the largest ships in the world, to working on coastwise tugboats and oil barges. I married a Brazilian beauty queen and don't get to see her enough.
