Just to make the point that what first comes out may not be representative of the tank contents. Is this feasible?Willhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00722792638246578812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2527913791294258201.post-79655876693027722152016-11-08T06:18:57.220-08:002016-11-08T06:18:57.220-08:00Thank you for sharing these notes on what you do. ...Thank you for sharing these notes on what you do. Many a midnight I'd come on shift and have to resample a jet fuel tank another shift had sampled and sent to the lab.If you follow the procedures ,you won't have any problems! Once I was sent up to sample a 67'000 brrl tank and the rope broke!Quart sampletaker ,bottle and about 20 feet of rope went straight to the bottom. So I went up front and bent a wire hanger into a halfassed grappling hook ,put it on a gaugetape and went fishing.I was hoping to maybe hook the eye of the sampler.Fished around a little bit and started to feel some weight,so I slowly reeled the tape up and grabbed the rope as soon as I could reach it. My hook had caught to rope and a rag someone had dropped in the tank before. The Goverment Surveyor had a habit of wrapping a rag around the tape as he reeled it in,He'd close the gaugehatch andreel it up like that.IfI hadn't hooked that rag I would have never got it out .Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2527913791294258201.post-37148829736380707952016-11-04T13:39:50.244-07:002016-11-04T13:39:50.244-07:00Having the right reputation is wonderful thing.Having the right reputation is wonderful thing.Rick Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04748076795783834112noreply@blogger.com
